With a solid background in engineering, filming and sound design, Borja is not only an expert in his field, he is also a successful entrepreneur who started up Wav Lab in 2009. Wav Lab specialises in media production, voice over production, and media localization. Within the first year, Wav Lab was recognised as a quality and innovative example of creative practice, winning the Deutsche Bank Award for 2011.
Since then, using a mixture of forward thinking, quality production, personalised customer service and a big dollop of humour, Borja continues to lead the business on from strength to strength, building a portfolio of voice artists from all over the world, as well as clients ranging from local charities to multinational companies.
Borja’s is also a lecturer for young people with learning difficulties at Glasgow Kelvin College, teaching various course in the creative visual arts.
Borja is passionate about any venture he takes on. He is constantly looking to expand his skills and knowledge, believing that constant learning is an essential part of keeping any work fresh, relevant and innovative. He is excited to share his technical and professional experience with the participants of ‘In A World..’ and to be part of teaching a new generation of professional voice talent in Scotland.
Donald trained at LAMDA and since graduating has worked in theatres up and down the country including the Old Vic, Citizens Theatre, Royal Lyceum, Nottingham
Playhouse and everywhere in between.
Donald is a prolific voiceover artist and has one of the most heard voices in Scotland. He is a continuity announcer at STV and works regularly for BBC radio. He records adverts, talking books, trails, narration and computer games - working for everyone from Vodafone to RBS.
He is a well respected lecturer in all aspects of acting and performance and delivers over 150 workshops a year.
Donald can often be found in some of Scotland’s lesser known football grounds following his beloved East Fife!
